TOMATO ADVENTURE

Gimica is a popular card game created by Big Bertha. It is played throughout the Ketchup Kingdom. The player can unlock the option to play Gimica after defeating Super Kid What and returning to the Lardosseum. As you play Gimica, the opponents you have defeated will inform you about stronger challengers to take on. As you rise up the ranks and best your foes, you will earn more Topar and Gimica Cards to help complete your collection.
Gimica can be played with certain NPC's you find throughout your journey. There is also an option to battle your friends using the Game Boy's Link Cable functionality.
Gimica is played using two sets of cards. One deck consists of Gimmick Cards (they correspond to the Gimmicks you have collected), while the other deck consists of Character Cards. When you start a round, two Gimmick Cards will be randomly placed on the playfield. The Gimmick card on the left side belongs to your opponent, and the one on the right belongs to you. During your turn, you will have to select a Character Card. These Character Cards all have unique effects, and they can alter the value and ranking of your Gimmick Card.
There are four distinct rankings that a Gimmick Card can have. These rankings are represented by a ladder of colors on the playfield. The best ranking is at the top, while the smallest is at the bottom. From top to bottom the rankings are as follows; blue, red, yellow, and green. The green ranking is unique since it has a special property. If there is a Gimmick Card on the blue rank and one on the green rank, the green rank is always treated as the higher rank.
Once you and your opponent both play a Character Card, the amount of damage dealt is calculated. The player with the higher ranking Gimmick Card will deal damage to the other player. The amount of damage dealt is determined by taking the higher value Gimmick Card (determined by numerical value in the bottom right corner of the card, not ranking) and subtracting it from the smaller card. If two Gimmick Cards have the same rank, the higher value card will win. Players start with 200 HP. A player wins by taking their opponent's HP down to 0 or by having a greater amount HP after 5 turns. Each turn starts fresh and presents a different scenario surrounding the Gimmick Cards.
There are 23 unique Gimica Cards to collect.
